HCL ME Champ VS Swipe Junior Comparison Review

Today HCL launched a tablet meant for kids, HCL ME Champ in India, Following Swipe Junior tablet which was released yesterday. The Swipe Junior Tablet comes with a playful body design which also restricts it strictly for kids while the HCL ME Champ has got Kids specific features on the Inside. Let’s compare these tablets against each other to help you decide which one is better suited for your kids!

Display and Processor

HCL ME Champ features a WVGA 800 X 480 pixel resolution on a 7 inch Display(133 ppi) which is quite less considering the market trends. While reading the text won’t be as crisp and you would notice resolved pixels. Swipe Junior comes with more pixels, 1024 x 600, spread across the same 7 inch Display screen, thus giving you better clarity. Thus this will give you better performance while gaming.

The HCl ME Champ comes with 1 GHz Single core Cortex A9 processor with Mali 400 GPU. The RAM capacity is 1 GB which will again add to the performance. The Swipe junior tablet is also powered by a 1 GHz processor whose make or architecture details have not been specified. The humble processor is backed by 512 MB of RAM which implies we can expect HCL ME Champ to perform better.

Kids love to play games and they know more in this department than what parents give them credit for. Better processing power is a significant advantage of HCL ME Champ.

The Battery capacity of both these tablets is similar and both are expected to give you similar battery backup. HCL ME Champ sports a 3100 mAh battery where as Swipe Junior comes with slightly smaller 3000 mAh battery. You are expected to get around 4 to 5 hours of screen time with these tablets.

Swipe junior comes with Food grade plastic body which makes it fit for toddlers and is also comes with a shock proof coating encasing. This makes it fit for kids which we know are more prone to drop their toys.

Both of these tablets come with parental control that lets you decide what content you will let your kids watch on the device. You can also fix the usage time per day to further monitor your kids. Both of these tablet run Android 4.1 jelly bean operating system which will provide good first time Android experience

HCL ME Champ definitely comes with better processing power and will give you better gaming performance. The Swipe Junior is meant for younger kids as is evident from the food grade plastic body and the body design. It is also less expensive at Rs. 5,990 which matters even more and also makes more sense when we are considering the kids budget tablet, targeted at a specific purpose. To sum it up both tablets will be good first time tablets for your kids and both will appeal to different age group.
