Both smartphones are almost similar with identical screen size and resolution. Well, the handsets boast of a 3.5 inch display with a basic screen resolution of 320×480 pixels that translate to a low pixel density of 164 pixels per inch. However, the Jivi offering appears to be better with the incorporation of OGS display technology that will make the screen more responsive.

A 1 GHz processor operates under the hood of both smartphones and this is backed by 128 MB of RAM, which should suffice in rendering smooth UI navigations, but it would not satisfy the users. However, the low price tag the handsets ask does not leave us with any complaints in this regard.

The Jivi JSP 20 comes with a relatively better 2 MP primary snapper with LED flash as compared to the 1.3 MP rear camera also with LED flash on the Spice phone. But, when it comes the flip side, the Spice phone scores more as it features a VGA front shooter, whereas the Jivi handset lacks one leaving the users with no option to make video calls and click selfies.

Internal storage in both the devices is similar at 256 MB, but the Jivi smartphone includes a micro SD card slot that will support expandable storage space up to 32 GB as opposed to the 4 GB of additional storage support in the Spice Fire One M1 FX1.

Battery and Other Features

In terms of battery back, the Jivi JSP 20 is fueled by a 1,350 mAh battery that is claimed to provide up to 7.5 hours of media usage time, whereas the backup rendered by the 1,400 mAh battery in the Spice phone remains unknown. But, considering the similar specifications, both the batteries should be providing almost similar backup to the smartphones.

Both smartphones support dual SIM functionality, 2G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. But, the actual difference is that the Jivi phone runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, whereas the Spice handset is based on Firefox OS. While the Jivi phone comes with support for widgets on the home screens for basic functions as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and others, the Firefox OS based on Linux in the Spice phone can run HTML5 based universal applications. Furthermore, it is pre-loaded with Adaptive App Search or the Single Window Search as well.

Price and Conclusion

Both Jivi and Spice smartphones have almost similar set of hardware with the key different between them boiling down to the software part. The Jivi phone has the OGS display tech and increased additional storage space. However, the Spice Fire One has a front-facing selfie camera onboard for video calling. The operating systems are different and they will render completely different user experience, hence, the buying depends on individual choice.
