At the same time, the company has faced heightened competition both in its home and across the Asia-Pacific market. That said, the company is fighting back with a range of products across all price points.

Another upcoming smartphone company, LeEco had launched the Le 2 along with the Le 2 Pro back in April. The latest smartphone from the company comes with a premium design and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. In this post, we compare the Lenovo Zuk Z1 with the LeEco Le 2 and see which phone comes out on top.

Design & Build
Both the Lenovo Zuk Z1 and the LeEco Le 2 compare quite well when it comes to the design and build quality. Featuring a premium metallic design, they look good on the outset.

The Lenovo Zuk Z1 wins by a whisker compared to the LeEco Le 2. While both the phones feature minimalist designs, they’re both distinct due to the antenna bands on the Le 2. The Zuk Z1’s reserved colour profile also helps it against the Le 2.
Display
Both the phones come with 5.5 inch full HD displays with a pixel density of ~401 PPI. Both the phones lack a Gorilla Glass for added protection to the display. However, the brightness, sunlight visibility and the colour reproduction is good on the Zuk Z2 as well as the LeEco Le 2.

Camera
The Lenovo Zuk Z1 comes with a 13 MP camera on the back, featuring a Sony Exmor RS sensor, 5 element lens, f/2.2 aperture and a blue glass filter. The camera UI is very simple to use and gives a good view of the scene, it offers features like burst mode, panorama, face detection, and HDR and more. It has a 8 MP camera on the front with f/2.2 aperture.

The LeEco Le 2 comes with a 16 MP camera on the back along with an LED flash. It features Phase Detection Autofocus for quick focus locking and clicking. You can access features like burst mode, panorama, HDR and others from the camera app. It supports video recording up to 1080p at 30 FPS. There is an 8 MP camera on the front.
Looking at the camera performance, I would say LeEco Le 2 is a better performer. Zuk Z1 has a great camera too, but pictures from Zuk Z1 looks washed out and over-saturated in some cases which looks good to eye but its not natural. Le 2 produces natural colours and better details in comparison. For better idea, you can check out the camera samples.

Hardware and Storage
The Lenovo Zuk Z1 comes with a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, with the four cores clocked at 2.5 GHz. The graphics are handled by Adreno 330 GPU. It comes with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. There is no provision for a microSD card.
The LeEco Le 2 comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, with the eight cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The graphics are handled by Adreno 510 GPU. It comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, with no provision for a microSD card.
Battery Performance

The Zuk Z1 comes with a massive 4,000 mAh battery while the Le 2 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery. While both the phones are fairly the same in most areas, the Snapdragon 801 processor in the Zuk Z1 has proven to be efficient in terms of battery consumption. The newer Snapdragon 652 processor in the Le 2 is yet to be tested thoroughly in this area. We will update you with results after rigorous testing.

Verdict
We are split between the Zuk Z1 and the Le 2. While both the phones have their respective pros and cons, the difference between them is so little that we have to consider other factors. One of the major factor that can hurt the Le 2 is the internal storage, which is half of what the Zuk Z1 offers. However, it is cheaper than the Zuk Z1. The Zuk Z1, on the other hand is still on Android 5.1 Lollipop, although Lenovo has promised to update it to Marshmallow.
Both the phones offer similar features in terms of software, so in the end it will boil down to which phone you like more.
