Display and Processor

The Display on LG G2 is 5.2 Inch in size, but the bezel on the side is extremely thin and the navigation buttons on the button are software buttons, which makes the screen look bigger while reducing the overall size. LG has its way with IPS LCD technology which it has perfected along the way. The display on LG G2 comes with 1080p full HD resolution and will be a treat for you eyes.

The Sony Xperia Z1 also features a 1080p Full HD display which is conventional 5 Inches in size. The display comes with TRILUMINOUS technology and X-Reality engine. TRILUMINOUS technology helps the display in producing 50 percent more colors then traditional LCD. The X reality engine is an image processing technique which reduces noise and makes your pictures look sharper. The Xperia Z1 display has been designed to favor those who like to watch High definition videos on their smartphones.

The display in LG G2 is protected by Corning gorilla glass 2 and the one in Xperia Z1 is protected by Shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass.

The processor of both these smartphones is the Snapdragon 800 quad core processor from Qualcomm with each core clocked at 2.26 GHz and assisted by Adreno 330 GPU . The processor is undoubtedly fast one and coupled with 2 GB of RAM in both the devices, will leave nothing to complain about.

Camera and Memory

Sony has really been camera specific while marketing Z1. This phone features a 20.7 MP auto focus primary camera with Sony’s high quality G lens and LED flash. A secondary camera is of 2 MP is present on the front side and both the cameras are capable of full HD 1080 p video recording at 30fps.

LG G2 sports a 13 MP primary Auto focus camera with LED flash and Optical Image stabilization. The camera is capable of recording 1080 p videos at 60fps which is double compared to Z1. The front camera of 2.1 MP is also capable of 1080p Video recording at 30fps. Unless you are a diehard camera enthusiast, both cameras will satisfy your photography needs, but Sony Xperia Z1 has an edge as far as MP count and camera features are concerned

The internal memory in LG G2 is 16 GB/ 32 GB according to the variant you choose, but the storage is not expandable. The Sony Xperia Z1 features 16 GB on board storage which can be further extended to 64 GB using a microSD card which will be a major plus point for most users.

Battery and Features

LG G2 has 3000 mAh non removable battery. Though LG has not officially specified the talk time you can squeeze out of this battery, it is expected to be around 22 Hrs on 3G. The LG G2 also uses GRAM or Graphic RAM which helps in conserving up to 10 percent of battery backup. What Graphic RAM does is it reduces the constant communication between GPU and Screen while the screen is static by adding a memory cache. Thus the GPU does not have to send same display signals again and again on a static screen.

Sony Xperia Z1 will provide you with ample back up with its 3000 mAh battery which will provide you with up to 15 Hrs of 3G talk time and up to 880 Hours of standby time. Both these devices will give you ample battery backup to enjoy the vivid display and features without much interruption.

The LG G2 has its volume rocker and Power key placed unconventionally at the back where your fingers tend to rest while making a call. This might lead you to unintentionally smudge your camera and will take some getting used to. LG G2 also comes with various software features like you can tap the screen twice to unlock the phone, you can use Slide windows for multitasking and keep up to 3 windows open in the side bar. The software features are way too many and make the UI look cluttered.

Sony Xperia Z1 has a water resistant and dust resistant body. The Water resist feature allows it to remain under water up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. This won’t work for Sea water though. Nevertheless this feature makes Xperia Z1 quite handy and you can check your mails and attend calls even while it’s raining or if you are in the bath!
