The Canvas 4 from the Micromax is currently one of the most talked phone in the market and is trying to bank on the success of the A116 HD. On the other side Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 is new launch from the Spice mobiles in its popular Pinnacle series. Display and Processor

Both these phones features a larger 5.0 inch True HD IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, this seems to be good with the addition of the HD display crystal sharp clarity will be guaranteed to the customers. In addition to it Canvas 4 has the screen resolution of about 1280 x 720 pixels and pixel density of about 294 PPI so it is clear that the screen will allow the customers to enjoy the HD games and movies. The Micromax Canvas 4 is powered by the 1.2 GHz MT6589 Cortex A7 based Quad core processor, so this is the same Mediatek processor which is used most of the Indian manufacturer and gives good performance, though with larger HD display the processor seems to be on the lower side. On the other side Pinnacle FHD MI-525 is powered by a 1.5 GHZ Quad Core processor and will surely give good performance and will maintain the speed of the device. Camera and Memory

Micromax Canvas 4 packs the dual camera option and also this seems to be one of the USP of this device. It comes with the 13.0 MP auto focus primary camera at rear with five element lens, image stabilization, multiple face detection, vertical panorama, BSI sensor and LED flash. Again it has the 5.0 MP of secondary camera at front and allows the customers the feature of Video calling.Canvas 4 can record the 1080 pixel videos at 30 fps. On the other side Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 features the 8.0 MP auto focus primary camera with dual LED flash. And the 2.0 MP secondary camera at the front and allows the video calling feature.

So from the given specs about the camera it is clear that the Micromax Canvas 4 wins the race quite marginally, with greater primary camera and secondary camera. And again with the addition of the sensors and other features Canvas 4 has better camera among both.

When it comes to the memory, Micromax Canvas 4 comes with the impressive 16 GB of internal storage capacity which can be further expanded up to 32 GB via the Micro SD card. The memory capacity offered by the Canvas 4 seems to be impressive and will not let the users to run out of memory. Pinnacle FHD MI-525 offers the 8 GB of internal storage capacity that is further expandable up to 32 GB via the Micro SD card. Though both the devices offers ample storage capacity to the users, though with the greater internal storage Canvas 4 has an edge over Pinnacle FHD MI-525.

Battery and Features

Battery is among the important aspect of the device that we should examine before having go to it. Micromax Canvas 4 is powered by the 2000 mAh battery which is the same as the A116, and no further improvements have been made. Though the battery seems to be decent and will give good backup after a fully charged. It offers the standby time of around 220 hours and talktime of 8 hours. And the Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 features the larger 2100 Li-ion polymer mAh battery and will not let the phone short of the power. It was expected from it, with full HD display and greater hardware specs these seems to be decent. So again in the battery segment Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 moves ahead of  Canvas 4.

In the feature segment no device is short of the features, Canvas 4 provides various options for the connectivity such as the 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB and GPS. Also the phone comes with various sensors like Light Sensor, Proximity sensor, G-sensor. Canvas 4 also contains various built in apps such as the Hook up, Kingsoft office, Music hub and certain other games. In addition to this there is a unique feature introduced by the Micromax through Canvas 4 which is the Blow to Unlock where you essentially blow a kiss to your phone to unlock it. With addition to this there are various gesture controls supported by the Canvas 4 and lets you control the device by movement of your eyes or hands. The device runs on the Android v4.2.1 Jelly Bean OS and will add to the overall functionality of the device.

On the other side Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 also offers various new features, for connectivity it comes with the same 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB and GPS. For audio connectivity it has 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. It offers the dual SIM option to the users with dual standby and lets them to use both the SIM at the same time. The device also includes the newer features like Pop up play to play, Intelligent answers, Direct call and flip to mute the calls. Also the Spice Cloud backup support with seamless data sync and free storage of 2 GB. This phone runs on latest Android 4.2 jelly bean OS.

After the overall comparison of the devices we can state that the Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 comes with the sharper full HD display, better processor and aggressive pricing. On the the other hand Micromax Canvas 4 includes very good camera, larger internal storage capacity and several unique features. The Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 comes at the price tag of Rs.16,990 whereas the Micromax Canvas HD is available at Rs.17,999. Most of the features and specs of both the devices are almost same, though surely Canvas 4 will have good start in the market due to the buzz created by the previous phones in the Canvas series, but with cheaper price tag Spice Pinnacle FHD MI-525 is also a good choice for the one enjoys the HD games playing and watching high resolution movies.
