Micromax Canvas 4 VS XOLO Q1000 Comparison Review

Among the innumerable competitors to the Micromax Canvas 4, one which poses a threat as serious as any, is the Q1000 from XOLO. This phone offers pretty much the same features at a substantially lesser cost, and boasts of some quality hardware (build). The Q1000 previously was said to compete against the Canvas HD as well, and according to many, the Q1000 turned out to be the better on among the two. But now, there’s the Canvas 4. Can the XOLO Q1000 manage to beat this device too? Read below to know!

Canvas 4

Let us go ahead and compare the phones based on the specs sheet provided by the respective manufacturers.

Display And Processor

Buyers and fans were initially left disappointed with the screen offered by the Canvas 4. It was expected that the phone would feature a full HD display, but with the launch we learnt that the phone comes with only a 720p display, the same we saw on the previous flagship from Micromax – the Canvas HD. XOLO’s Q1000 offers the same 5 inch 720p HD screen, so there is nothing to choose from on this department.

Again, the similarities do not end with the screen. As we have noted, many phones from domestic manufacturers have more than one thing in common. The processor featured on both these devices is the extremely popular, low cost, high performance MT6589 from the Taiwanese chipset giant, Mediatek. The processor comes with 4 Cortex A7 cores clocked at a frequency of 1.2GHz per core.

Camera And Memory

A department where the Canvas 4 makes a clean sweep. The phone features a 13MP rear camera, which puts the phone on the top of the list of budget phones, in terms of camera resolution at least. The rear camera on the device is complemented by a 5MP front unit, which again, is pretty good and much above the average. On the other hand, the Q1000 from XOLO features a standard set of cameras we’ve been used to seeing; an 8MP rear and a 1.2MP front.

On the storage front, the Canvas 4 again reigns, with 16GB of in-built storage on the device. This really is commendable since most other manufacturers only offer 4GB of internal storage.

Battery And Features

Both the phones have very comparable batteries. The Canvas 4 from Micromax packs a rather tiny 2000mAh unit, which frankly doesn’t impress us. On the other hand, the XOLO Q1000 sports a slightly bigger 2100mAh unit. Given the exactly same screen size and resolution on the devices, you can expect the phones to give an equal amount of run time on a single charge, but the XOLO might be ever-so-slightly better than the Canvas 4.

Among other features, as document enough already, the Canvas 4 comes with a unique ‘blow to unlock’ feature, never seen previously. On the other hand, the XOLO Q1000 is a device for people who like to know everything about their phone before going for one.

Conclusion

XOLO is known for their superior build quality, while Micromax is regarded as one of the best domestic phone manufacturer, and they’ve always been the pioneers to bring the latest tech into the country and offer the same at very affordable prices. The Canvas 4 is the latest iteration of the uber-popular Canvas series, which was actually bought to the map by the dual-core powered Canvas 2 which broke many a record.

The Canvas 4 offers some new features, not seen previously on any phone in the same category. This includes – Blow to unlock, 13MP rear camera, etc. On the other hand, for about 4,000 INR less, you get a solidly built phone but with nothing new. So, the choice is yours; you can either go for the new and exciting Micromax Canvas 4 or if you want to be on the safer side, the XOLO Q1000 is for you.
