The Nubia Z11 has finally been launched in India at a price of Rs. 29,999. The latest smartphone to join the league of Snapdragon 820 phones in India. Looking at the price and overall offering, it stands close to the OnePlus 3T, which is out for sale from today onwards. We took a closer look to find out if Nubia Z11 can stand against the mighty OnePlus 3T or not.
The specs on Nubia Z11 are more comparable to the OnePlus 3, but the price is the same as OnePlus 3T. So we decided to put the Nubia Z11 next to OnePlus 3T in this quick comparison.

Design & Build
Nubia Z11 and OnePlus 3T, both boast of a 5.5 inch display. It is always difficult to use such smartphones with one hand but both of these smartphones come with great design for one handed usage. The Z11 looks stunning from the front, with a bezel-less design having bezels only on the top and bottom of the front panel. Even the OnePlus 3T has very minimal bezels on the sides but still has a broader and longer face compared to Z11. The Z11 is 151.8mm tall and 72.3mm wide, but the OnePlus 3T is 152.7mm tall and 74.7mm wide.
Despite of larger dimensions the OnePlus 3T is slimmer and lighter than the Z11 which weighs 163g against 158g of OnePlus 3T. The camera on OnePlus 3T is placed in the center while Z11 has the camera lens on top left corner. Fingerprint placement is also a bit different, where Nubia Z11 has the sensor on the back; OnePlus 3T has it on front.
In my personal opinion, OnePlus 3T ranks better in the design and build department. Although Z11 looks impressive from the front, but rest of the factors favor OnePlus 3T.
Display
The Nubia Z11 has a 5.5 inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080p resolution and a pixel density of 403ppi. OnePlus 3 on the other hand has a Super AMOLED panel with same size and resolution at 401ppi pixel density. Although the resolution is almost the same on both the smartphones, the AMOLED panel on OnePlus 3T looks much better in terms of colour production and details.
Moreover, OnePlus 3T has Gorilla Glass 4 protection, whereas Z11 has Gorilla Glass 3 on it. So again, OnePlus 3T wins over the Z11 with a better display.
Camera
Both the phones come with a 16MP rear camera with and almost the same hardware. But the difference is on the front, where the OnePlus 3T has a 16MP camera and Z11 has an 8MP wide angle camera.
Even if we ignore the megapixel count, the results from OnePlus 3T were slightly better from both the cameras. Z11 was also capturing impressive pictures but colors were looking more natural on OP 3T. We noticed warmer images on Z11.
But we still reserve our final take on the camera performance, as we will do a detailed comparison of the both before final conclusion.
Battery
Coming to the battery, the OnePlus 3T features a 3400 mAh battery while the Nubia Z11 comes with a 3000 mAh battery. Where OnePlus 3T comes with dash charging for superfast charging, the Nubia Z11 also has Quick Charge 3.
We have not tested the batteries side by side, but OnePlus 3T looks better on paper. To recall, OnePlus 3 was launched with 3000 mAh battery but the company realized that it is not enough for one full day of usage.
Additional facts
- Nubia Z11 comes with Nubia 4.0 UI and OnePlus 3T comes with OxygenOS. Oxygen OS is very close to stock Android with some customization but the Nubia UI is highly skinned but is nicely optimized. OnePlus 3T is also likely to get the latest Nougat update very soon.
- There is one difference in the hardware as well; the Nubia Z11 comes with Qualcomm’s 2.1GHz Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with 6GB RAM and Adreno 530 GPU. The OnePlus 3T runs on slightly better 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor and Adreno 530 GPU.
- Nubia Z11 comes in 64GB storage variant, but OnePlus 3T has 64/128GB storage options.
- One thing that falls in favor of Nubia Z11 is the option to expand storage up to 256GB via microSD card.
Pricing & Availability
The Nubia Z11 has been priced starting at Rs. 29,999. Registrations for the same are starting on December 16 exclusively on Amazon.
The OnePlus 3T has been priced at Rs. 29,999 for the 64 GB version and Rs. 34,999 for the 128 GB version. The device is available exclusively on Amazon.in starting from December 14. It will be available in Gunmetal colour initially. The Soft Gold version of the phone will be available shortly after the launch of the phone.
Conclusion
Looking at what both the phones offer for Rs. 29,999, OnePlus 3T is surely a better choice. It’s not that the Nubia Z11 is a bad offer, but ZTE has not established itself as strongly as OnePlus when it comes to Indian market. As we all know, OnePlus 3 has already rated as the best phone in its category. Similarly OnePlus 3T has all we ask from a perfect phone at this price.
