Amazing, Honor 5X Passes 3 Extreme Durability Tests

You never enjoy watching your smartphone slip out of your hand or your pocket and head to the ground and bang it before you try to catch it. But we all know that accidents happen, and there’s always that scary moment with a lot of suspense when you bend down and check for the dent, scratch or break. Many of us get lucky and get away with the drops with a slight scratch or a minor dent, but we have to agree that one small crack on the display is enough to ruin your day.

Honor 5X (11)

In our recent test, the Honor 5X has proved to be one phone that has managed to take on the limits of brutality and proved the quality and strength of its built. We tried to test it with the drops to see if it has the ability to withstand such accidental bumps. We’ve earlier done the drop test of the Honor 5X from 3 different levels and surprisingly it survived in all the 3 occasions. It surely showcases the hard work of the engineers to bring out the quality in Honor phones.

You can watch how we dropped the Honor 5X from the waist height, shoulder height and from above the head. To know what happened to the phone, watch the video below.

That is not all, we have a lot more to show you this time. After this brutal drop test, folks at Honor decided to test how much weight or pressure can the Honor 5X bear. In this test, the Honor 5X is run over by a Royal Enfield Bullet 350cc (weighs 190 Kg + 75 kg rider’s weight). You must be wondering if it survived this test or not, let me tell you that it did!

Still not convinced? The team decided to put more weight on the Honor 5X and tried running it over by a Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire (weighing 1100 Kg) with the screen at facing the ground. Surprisingly, there was no sign of any crack, or even a dent on the body. For those who are not easy to convince, the team placed the Honor 5X again under the Swift Dzire but this time the screen faced upwards. Anyhow, the results were the same and we are still wondering about what wizardry was that. To see how the Honor 5X survived these evil pressure tests, watch the video below and let us know if you are shocked too.

Now that you’ve recovered from watching that, let’s see exactly how the Honor 5X fared in the third extreme durability test. The folks at Honor wanted to know how far this phone can survive; they again repeated the drop test from three different heights- 1 Meter, 1.5 Meter and 2 meters. After watching the earlier tests, it’s no more a surprise for us that it was still intact and properly functional.

Following the initial test, the Honor team then decided to take this test beyond extremism and in an attempt to completely destroy it, they dropped it from the 10th floor of a multistory building. Guess what happened next?

The Honor 5X headed to the ground with full force and we heard a pretty scary sound at the time of contact. It did it again, the glass was broken but the touch and buttons were still working. This means that if you replaced the glass, you’d probably end up with a fully working Honor 5X.

Conclusion

All praises to Honor’s engineers as they absolutely excelled with the build and design of the Honor 5X. We didn’t expect that a phone worth just INR 12,999, and such powerful hardware specifications could pass through such harsh tests. We definitely don’t recommend you run over your Honor 5X with a car, but it’s amazing to see that the smartphone still manages to hold up impressively.
