The OPPO Find 5 comes with a pair of Dirac HD earphones, a USB cable used for data transfer and charging, a charger, user’s manual, and 2 NFC tags.

Build Quality, Design And Form Factor

The Find 5 comes with exceptional build quality, comparable to the Nokia Lumia 920 if not better than that. I got a chance to play with the Lumia 920 last night, and the OPPO did seem equally sturdy or maybe even a little better due to the uniform weight distribution. The Find 5 has a Unibody design, and the phone is very compact and a little on the heavier side, weighing a little over 160g. However, this weight adds to the premium feel of the phone, since the phone is built around a metal frame supported by a polycarbonate back. The screen is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 which makes it virtually scratch proof, and eliminates the need of using a scratch guard on your phone. OPPO have implemented a ‘stealth’ effect on the screen, wherein when the screen is off, the whole front turns into a seamless black sheet.

Display, Memory And Battery Backup

The Find 5 comes with one of the best displays in the market, manufactured by Sharp. The display is a 5 inch Full HD panel, with a pixel density of 441ppi. The best part is that there is very less gap between the screen and the digitizer, so it looks as if you were reading print and not a phone, which is a desirable quality. The Find 5 comes in two versions, namely 16GB and 32GB. We have the 32GB version, out of which 2GB is reserved for apps, 25.23GB is for user files, while the rest is for the Android OS. The phone comes with a non-removable 2500mAh battery, which is pretty good. The battery will last you one day if you are a heavy user, and about a day and a half if you are a moderate user. The firmware on the OPPO isn’t perfect yet, which means battery life isn’t optimized to it’s potential yet. But OPPO release an update every 2 weeks, so you can expect things to get better with time.

Sound, Video And Navigation

The phone comes with the Dirac HD technology, which is a combination of hardware and software components which make the sound quality better. For eg., you will be able to listen to backing vocals in a song when you play it on the OPPO, which you will not be able to hear on other devices. The speaker on the device is quite loud too, one of the loudest we have heard on a phone, and yes without any distortion. The phone has built-in GPS, which gives you a lock in 5-6 seconds with good enough accuracy.

Conclusion And Price

The OPPO Find 5 is among the best if not the best Android phone we have had our hands on till date. Although there are some bugs in the firmware, the OPPO community is very helpful in this regard. The phone is not yet available in India, we had the phone imported from Hong Kong, and paid a price of 32,689 INR excluding customs duty. The phone is one of the more expensive options, but if your budget is not a problem, you should definitely go ahead and buy this phone. We hope to see the OPPO Find 5 launch in India soon.
