It comes with 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) version of android operating system and the effective screen resolution is 800 x 480 Pixels which is again low in pixels but you wont it with your eyes, it comes for a price of around Rs. 20,000 INR [Street Price will be Lesser]

Design, Build and Form Factor

Galaxy Grand is no doubt big but the build quality and form factor is same as you see in a other premium samsung phones including S3 and Note 2, for a change it has a glossy + texture back cover which makes it more easy to hold in hand and get less finger prints and it does not get scratches easily on the body.

Battery, Camera and Benchmarks

It will give you around one day of battery back if you are moderate users or else as heavy user then you will get around 14-15 hours of back which is again quite nice and we give the credit to the display which is not too bright and also adjust with auto brightness which results in saving a lot of battery, the camera is 8MP rear which is not as good as you see on note which it is quite good to perform in day light and in low light the camera performance is average.

The Front Camera is a 2 MP camera the we did tested the video output quality from the front camera, you can know more by watching the video below.

On the Benchmark level we have following figures

  • Quadrant Benchmark: 3721.
  • Antutu Benchmark: 12300.
  • Nenamark2: 41 fps.
  • Multi Touch: 5 point.

To give you an idea it does support playing both high graphic and casual games, we played Asphalt 7, Temple Run 2 and other games like Dead Trigger and Frontline Commando and all these games runs fine, you can watch our gaming review below

Conclusion:

Galaxy Grand is good phone at this price point, although there are phones available at the same price or lower price which has same or higher display and this includes micromax a116 which is slightly more powerful in gaming aspect than grand, but again when it comes to after sales support grand wins here.
