Spice Stellar Pad Review – 10 Inch Tablet Which Supports 3G Dongles For Internet with Wifi

Spice Stellar Pad which is a 10 inch android tablet was launched in Jan 2013 it has a 10-inch TFT display comes with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels which is actually higher resolution you get among the similar priced tablet, It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, coupled with 1GB RAM, and comes with 16GB internal storage and microSD expansion up to 64GB. Connectivity features of the tablet include Wi-Fi, 3G (via dongle), microSD and miniHDMI. At the back of the device is a 3MP camera, while a VGA snapper is used in the front.

Box Contents

Inside the box you get the Spice Stellar Pad tablet, USB to microUSB cable, 3G dongle cable, leather case + cover and a cleaning cloth to clean the tablet.

Design, Build Quality and Form Factor

As far as the design is concerned this is one of the slimmest tablet we have seen with android 4.1 jelly bean out of the box, the build quality is quite nice as it sports a nice matt finish aluminum back which is actually made of two pieces of aluminum bind together tightly, the weight of the tablet is around 667gram which is slightly heavier but not very heavy, you can easily carry it around without noticing its weight.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

The 10-inch TFT display comes with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels is quite good, I did not notice any pixilation on the screen, viewing HD Video is not an issue but it might not play some 1080p videos very smoothly but 720p videos plays fine. In built memory you get is 16gb out of which around 13 Gb is available to the user and you cannot install apps on SD card but you can mount a USB storage as it supports OTG function. The battery on this device is 7,600mAh which is again proved to be quite sufficient and will last for around 14-16 hours.

Software and Performance, Charging

Both the software and processor talk to each other quite well, we did not notice much lag apart some occasional while playing some graphic intensive games, it played these games pretty well with any graphic lag. Performance wise this tablet is quite good but we did faced 2 times when the device was frozen but restart did the trick both of these times. It does not support USB charging so you cannot charge it as well using a USB cable you will have to carry the circular pin charger every where, we really don’t like this thing.

Conclusion

Spice Stellar Pad comes for a price of around Rs. 12,999 MRP [ street price is lower ] and offers a great screen which has large number of pixels if not HD and the display is fairly bright and the tablet has a good build quality among the other tablets in this price range, it has close competitors like Zync Quad 9.7, HCL ME Tab G1 and Videocon VT10 and it you spend little bit more money you can buy it as a phablet .
