Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

The build quality of the tablet is good if not great, it does feel plastic in hands but again at this price point, but still we did not notice any sound coming out from the parts which are loose. The design seems to be inherited from samsung devices we have seen earlier but still its nice as it not exactly the same and it feels nice to hold in hands, may feel little bit large initially but you will get used to it.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

The display is not very vibrant but does seem a little washed out at time but pretty good to use in indoor light, the sunlight visibility is not that great but you can read things on the display using it in outdoor. You also get LED indicator which does help you to know when the tablet is running out of battery. On the memory department you have 8 GB internal around 5 Gb available to the user and you can also install apps on the SD card by using it as internal storage. You can move apps on the to the SD card as well from phone storage. The battery backup on the tablet was around one day and with heavy usage it was little less than one day as well at times during our review.

Software, Benchmarks and Gaming

The UI is completely stock android, we did not notice any customizations in the UI front. Gaming performance was good we played some heavy graphic intensive games like dead trigger, need for speed and front line commando games ran fine but the touch screen was not very sensitive while playing some of these games.

Benchmark Scores for Canvas 3D

  • Nenamark2: 65.6 fps
  • Multi Touch: 2 point.

Sound, Video and Navigation

The sound quality from the loudspeaker was good but not very loud. The device can play HD videos both at 720p and 1080p there was little audio and video sync issues in 1080p video but that was solved after enabling hardware decoding in MX Player. The navigation does work on this device with the help of assisted GPS but make sure you enable it under location settings before using this device for navigation.

Conclusion and Price

Wammy Desire 2 available at Rs. 8990 INR at Wickedleak website is a decent budget android tablet which comes at a fairly lower price and does offer a good multimedia experience at this price with support for 3G dongles to use data on the got, the only downside we noticed is that the display is not that vibrant but that’s again due the price point of the device.
