Aircel Makes National Roaming Incoming Calls Free: How to Activate?

In the midst of Reliance Jio’s disruptive tariff offers, Aircel has removed incoming call charges on national roaming. Thus, it follows the steps of Airtel and Idea. However, Aircel subscribers need to follow certain steps to activate free national roaming incoming calls for their numbers. Read on to know about it.

  • Dial *121*909# from your Aircel number and press the call button.
  • Here you will see the ‘Free Incoming in Roaming’ option. Reply with the specific number in from of this option.
  • In the next menu, it will ask for your confirmation. Send 1 to activate unlimited free incoming in roaming on Aircel network for 28 days. Soon after, you will receive an SMS approving the activation.

Voila! You are done. Now you may enjoy free incoming calls while roaming ion Aircel network for 28 days. It is quite unfortunate that this is only a temporary offer which the company can withdraw after 28 days. However, it might be possible that we need to activate the free service every 28 days.

Announcing this, the Chief Marketing Officer at Aircel, Anupam Vasudev said, “We want to ensure that our customers not only enjoy economical propositions but also the benefits of staying with us.”

This is not the first time any telecom operator is making incoming calls free while roaming. Reliance Jio has done it till the beginning and has promised to keep it free forever. A month ago, in February, Bharti Airtel announced the waiver of incoming call charges in national roaming. The cellular service provider also assured to stop charging an additional premium for outgoing calls while roaming.

Aditya Birla-owned Idea had stopped collecting incoming call charges while roaming in India from the beginning of this month. The Jio-effect is visible everywhere!
