Update: 5/10/13 Gionee Gpad G3 is now available in India for a competitive price of Rs. 9,699 From Online retailer Snapdeal. Display has FWVGA resolution and battery capacity is 2250 mAh. We will post our Gionee Gpad G3 quick review soon

Few months back we talked about the Gionee Gpad G2 in details which was equipped with 5.3 Inches LCD screen and then conventional MT6589 Quad Core Processor and now its successor with the name of Gionee Gpad G3 is out. Though the price of the same has not been revealed yet but we have got the full list of the specifications which this successor will be having. Before going further let me tell you that please done set your expectations high as there are very few upgrades in this new device.

The display size has been taken to 5.5 inches from the previous 5.3 Inches (Gionee GPad 2). Disappointingly the cameras (both secondary and the primary) have been downgraded with 5MP available at the rear of the phone and 0.3 MP available as the secondary camera (initially they were 8MP and 2 MP respectively).

The processor and RAM are still the same which are 1.2 GHz Quad Core Mediatek MT6589 and 1 GB RAM. The internal memory of this device will be 4GB which can be extended up to 32GB with the help of microSD card. The battery strength in GPad G3 is only 2250 mAh as compared to 3000 mAh available in case of GPad G2, which may really affect the talktime and standby time of this phone.

Now when the display size has been increased then logically the battery strength should have been upgraded but this battery strength comes as a surprise to us. The version of the Android has been upgraded to 4.2.2 and it also comes with the feature of Dual SIM, which will support 3G on both the slots. The other common connectivity features are available with the device (like 3G, Wifi, Bluetooth and others).

So performance wise this successor is same to that of its predecessor but GPad G3 keeps it self ahead in terms of display, but on the other hand it depreciates in terms of camera and battery strength, whereas it managed to stay on the same line in terms of performance and benchmark (as per ‘on-paper’ specs). So, the expected price of GPad G3 will not much higher as compared to the GPad G2. You will get to know more about this in our Quick Review post about the same device.
