After rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat updates to Elife S5.5 and Elife E7 Mini, Gionee has come up with the update for its budget smartphone dubbed Pioneer P4 in India. The OTA (over the air) update measures 808 MB in size.
This update will add platform specific enhancements like any other update along with enhancing the overall performance of the device adding a slew of new features. Some of the highlights of the update include a new design for the desktop layout, updated Amigo paper with a revamped user interface, new TouchPal input method for a faster and more efficient typing experience and new gaming user interface called Game Zone.
Also, the Pioneer P4 is subject to receive numerous changes related to the applications with Android 4.4.2 KitKat including GioneeXender for an optimized performance and enhanced linking success rate, NQ Mobile Security, UC Browser for better page-loading effects and optimized UI interface, updated WeChat app with an all new user interface and updated Map app. These applications come as a part of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update itself.
Other changes after the update are the addition of games such as TexasPoker and Hitout Heroes and the removal of Real Football and World Cricket Champion.
