Huawei Honor 6X Launched With Dual Cameras Starting At $150

Huawei Honor 6X was launched in China today, featuring a dual camera setup and an octa-core Kirin 655 processor. The latest smartphone from Huawei comes at an extremely affordable price of CNY 1,000 or about $150. This also makes it the first smartphone to feature a dual camera setup at such a low price.

The Honor 6X comes with a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display of full HD resolution. At 1920 x 1080 pixels, you get a pixel density of ~401 PPI. The phone comes with a brand SoC developed by Huawei themselves. The phone features an Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 655 SoC, with an octa-core processor clocked at 2.1 GHz. The CPU is assisted by a Mali T830-MP2 GPU.

The Huawei Honor 6X runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Emotion UI 4.1 on top.

Imaging is the main attraction of the Honor 6X. The phone features a dual camera setup on the back with a 12 MP camera with 6P lens and phase detection autofocus. The main camera is assisted by a 2 MP camera for extended depth of field. The phone can record up to 1080p videos. It is assisted by a single LED flash next to the camera sensor.


On the front, you get an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calling.

The Honor 6X comes with two storage options – 3 GB or 4 GB RAM for the 32 GB version and 4 GB RAM for the 64 GB version. The internal storage can be expanded using a microSD card.

The Honor 6X also comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back, just below the camera sensors. Connectivity options include a hybrid dual SIM card slot, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. The phone is powered by a 3340 mAh battery with support for fast charging.

Pricing And Availability

The Huawei Honor 6X starts at CNY 999 (~$150) for the 3 GB / 32 GB version, CNY 1299 (~$190) for the 4 GB / 32 GB version and CNY 1599 (~$240) for the 4 GB / 64 GB version. The phone is available in gold, silver, grey, blue, and rose gold colour options. Pre-orders have started in China, while availability details in other markets are not yet known.
