Huawei’s AI-Powered Honor Magic Is Now Official, Coming Soon

It is quite a long time since, Huawei is releasing teaser images of its upcoming concept phone, the Honor Magic. Finally, the company has made this concept official and will be coming in the market soon. But, the catch is, the phone will be only available in its parent country, China.

But, the features of this upcoming phone are something that makes it stand apart in the segment. The pricing and availability is not yet cleared but, the phone will be available through retailers like Vmall.com, JD, Tmall and Suning. After taking the response from the home crowd, the company might introduce this phone in other markets as well but, there is no official word from the officials yet.

The phone will be having a 5.09-inch AMOLED display (2560 X 1440 resolution, 577 ppi). Powering the phone will be present a 2.3GHz octa-core Huawei Kirin 950 processor with 4GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

Camera duties include 12MP dual lens sensor camera accompanied with 8 MP front camera. A 2,900 mAh battery is on the cards for fuelling it while the connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, MicroUSB, GPA/AGPS/Glonass/BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. It will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and dimensions of the phone measure 146.1 mm X 69.9 mm X 7.8 mm (L X W X T).

Though the core features are not on the par of the competitors but, some of the interesting features might include AI driven features, Wise Screen sensor, which is a combination of frame sensor and an infrared sensor in the front-facing camera. The sensor will help the owner in determining the hand and eyes of the owner after turning on the screen and when the screen is put away, it will turn off within seconds.

Another highlighting feature is the FaceCode Intelligent Recognition which will reveal the messages to the pre-registered faces only. It means if someone picks your phone for random checking, the probability of getting your messages leaked is quite low.

The AI related features include: –

  • Recommendation from Honor for the things you are discussing within your chat groups like Wechat
  • Automatic recommendation from Honor when you are driving to turn the phone on driving mode
  • Hold the home button for a while and the Honor Magic will offer multi-facet information based on the current web pages you have visited in past
  • The phone will also display the license number plate of the driver on the lock screen if you have booked a cab through the phone
  • After arriving at the movie theatre, the phone will automatically display the movie tickets
  • At the time of collecting your parcel, the phone will automatically highlight the tracking number

There are some other features also which can be activated on demand like the phone will automatically turn on the flashlight when you enter a dark room. The MyPocket feature will further help the user in surfing the news, articles and stories related to the interest along with the flexibility of saving and sharing it with others.

Huawei  is definitely looking to take the competitive edge with the help of technological advancements and with such features, the flagships from other tech giants might have strong competitor. Let’s see how the phone performs once it hits the market.
