Intex has launched, a new octa core smartphone – the Intex Aqua Amaze priced at 10,690. Specifications seem well balanced for the asking price. Let’s take a look at the hardware.
There is a sharp enough 5 Inch IPS LCD OGS display with 720p HD resolution which will showcase Android 4.4 Kitkat software powered by MediaTek 1.4 GHz quad core MT6592M SoC. The display is fully laminated to make it less reflective.
The chipset is backed by 1 GB RAM and 8 GB (5.02 GB user available) native storage which can be further extended to 32 GB using MicroSD card. Imaging hardware is 13 MP AF rear plus 5 MP FF front shooter. The rear shooter has LED flash support and BSI sensor to assist in low light conditions.
All hardware will be powered by a 2000 mAh battery and Intex promises 7-8 hours of talk time and 240 hours of standby time, which sounds scarce. Connectivity options include 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Dual SIM functionality.
With Aqua Amaze, Intex attempts to bring octa core SoC at a competitive price, while playing to the gallery with well chalked out hardware. Intex Aqua Amaze is quite slim at 7.6 mm and the chrome finished insignia at the back is a nice touch. It will mainly compete with phones like Wickedleaks Wammy Neo Youth, Upcoming Redmi Note and Zenfone 5. The chrome finished Intex insignia is a nice touch from Intex.
