LG U Launched – 5.2 inch Display, Octa-core Processor, 13 MP Camera

LG U is the latest smartphone to be launched by the Korean giant. The new smartphone from LG is seemingly a new budget smartphone. It comes with a 5.2 inch full HD display, 2 GB RAM and an octa-core processor. The LG U was launched in the company’s home market, Korea at a price equivalent of $340.

LG U Specs

The LG U comes with a 5.2 inch full HD IPS LCD display. At a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, you get a pixel density of ~424 PPI. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with LG’s custom skin on top.

The phone is powered by an octa-core 1.14 GHz processor with an unspecified chipset. The LG U comes with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage, with the ability to expand it using a microSD card also present.

In the imaging department, the LG U comes with a 13 MP camera on the back. Assisting the rear camera is an LED flash just below the camera module. It can record fullHD 1080p videos at 30 FPS. On the front, you get an 8 MP camera.


Other specs of the LG U include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. LG has not specified whether the phone comes with FM Radio enabled.

The LG U is powered by a 3000 mAh battery and it weighs 135 grams.

Pricing And Availability

The LG U will be available in Black, White, and Pink colours. It has been priced at KRW 396,000, roughly translating to $345. While the price does seem exorbitantly high, it is exclusive to the company’s carrier service called LG U+. There is no word yet on whether LG will be launching it in other markets.
