Missing a file explorer on your WP 8.1 device? FileEx might be what you’re looking for!

Although Microsoft’s WP prides itself in being a fluid, deeply-optimized OS for smartphones, it usually lacks the services of a stock file manager. Of course, there are innumerable 3rd party file managers that do the trick; FileEx, however, stands out in more ways than one.

app

The app is a feature packed file manager for Windows Phone 8.1 devices, and it capable of interacting with other NFC powered devices besides offering you the basic cut-copy-paste functionalities… and the likes.

Head over to the app’s description section, and here’s what you’ll be greeted with:

FileEx is the first real file explorer for your phone. You are now free to browse all folders and files in your phone a perform multiple operations – moving, copying, deleting folders and even sharing and renaming multiple files at once is no problem for FileEx! To access folders and files faster you can use the Favorites feature and can also pin any item for fast access. The user interface is very simple and streamlined and uses your selected accent color to make sure the experience is just awesome!

The app is free, but as you would’ve expected, it comes with ads. You can always purchase the ad-free version from within the app, though. This will also make you eligible for beta versions of the app, which will offer new functionality a while before they make their way to the ad-supported version.

According to the developer of FileEx, the app will soon have a handful new features including support for the oh-so-popular .zip files, integration with Microsoft’s OneDrive, etc.

Fancy the app? Head over to the Windows Phone App Store and give the app a go. Let us know what you think, and if you ever plan to purchase the full version of the app.
