The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that was supposed to be launched in India on September 2 got may finally be launched on October 7. The launch was delayed because of the battery related issues. According to reports, the device may be launched on October 7.
Galaxy Note 7 Launch In India
The Galaxy Note 7 is to be formally launched in India by Samsung on October 7. Samsung had to push back the launch in India due to a crippling issue with the battery of the device – dozens of cases have been reported across the world where users of the Galaxy Note 7 have witnessed their phones exploding. Samsung had to officially recall the Note 7 after several governmental agencies issued a warning to citizens.
That being said, the turnaround time for the relaunch of the Note 7 has been spectacular. Samsung has stopped sourcing the faulty batteries from its own sister company, instead sourcing them from its suppliers in China.
Additionally, the newer and safe Galaxy Note 7s will come with a distinguishing “S” mark on the boxes, in addition to a green battery icon in the status bar. Normally, Android phones come with a white battery icon following Google’s design guidelines. However, for the Galaxy Note 7, Google has made an exception allowing Samsung to use a green battery icon.

The Galaxy Note 7 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and features a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. The display comes with a pixel density of ~518 ppi.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is powered by an Octa-core Exynos 8890 processor clubbed with Mali-T880 MP12 GPU. The device comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. The storage on the device can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
The Galaxy Note 7 features a 12 MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash. The device sports a 5 MP secondary camera with f/1.7 aperture.
The device is powered by a 3,500 mAh battery. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB 3.1, featuring a USB Type C reversible connector. You also get 4G VoLTE support, of course.
