Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 To Feature Curved AMOLED Display, 93% Screen-To-Body Ratio

Xiaomi Mi Mix was one of the most innovative smartphone of 2016. Now, the company is working on the second generation of Mi Mix and Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun last month confirmed it. It will having the same design concept but with more innovative form factor and design. Xiaomi also confirmed that the upcoming Mi Mix 2 will be designed by Frenchman, Philippe Starck, who also designed last year’s Mi Mix. There has been lots of rumors going around with the new Mi Mix 2 which says that this time around there will be absolutely minimal bezels on the bottom.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 To Feature Curved AMOLED Display

According to the new report, the new Mi Mix 2 will be featuring a curved AMOLED display unlike the IPS display used on it’s predecessor, Mi Mix. Additionally it will be having an amazing 93% screen-to-body ratio as compared to 91.3% screen-to-body ratio on Mi Mix.

Another feature which we might see is a ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which will be embedded under the display. Xiaomi’s Mi 5s features a similar under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint sensor which is present on the bezel below the display. It performs pretty accurate and fast as well. So the upcoming Mi Mix 2 may have same kind of fingerprint sensor but under the display unlike on the back like the Mi Mix.

It will also be featuring the same Cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic system instead of a normal earpiece used on any smartphone. Also the leaked images hints that the bottom chin on the front will be small as compared to Mi Mix and enough for housing the front selfie camera.

It be be competing with the upcoming Samsung’s Galaxy S8. It is expected to get launched somewhere in the second half of this year or maybe sooner.
