Domestic manufacturer Xolo has launched another KitKat running smartphone in India, dubbed as Xolo Q1011. This new smartphone will retail exclusively on Amazon. In for 9,999 INR starting from 27TH June 2014.
Xolo has highlighted gesture support in its new Q1100. You can swiftly launch apps, when your phone is in sleep mode, by simply drawing their respective symbol on the display. You can draw “e” to access web browser, “c” to access dial pad and “m” to access the camera when your phone is in the sleep or standby mode.
The IPS LCD display is 5 Inches in size and supports 720p HD resolution which amounts to 294 pixels per inches. The 5 point multi touch display also flaunts OGS technology and full lamination to reduce reflections.
The processor used is familiar 1.3 GHz MT6582 quad core with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB Internal storage. Xolo could have definitely done better in this department considering the price tag and the fact that Xolo will be retailing it via online stores. The internal storage is expandable by 32 GB using MicroSD card support.
Xolo claims that the rear 8 MP BSI sensor camera can shoot 1080p full HD videos. It also enjoys LED flash support for low light photography. A 2 MP front camera is also present for basic video calling.
The battery capacity is 2250 mAh, which will deliver 509 hours of standby time on 3G and up to 13.5 hours of talk time on 3G. Xolo also claims 7 plus hours of Web browsing time on WiFi. These stats seem pretty decent. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, WiFi and GPS.
In the time where manufacturers are working hard to differentiate themselves and pose a competitive price via retailing on online stores, Xolo Q1011 might not strike as an Impressive product on paper. Perhaps Xolo should have slightly cut the cost or should have provided with 8 GB internal storage. It is however, the First KitKat phone priced under 10,000 INR, which doesn’t rushes to cut on display size or resolution for a price subsidy and aims at a better user experience than the rest of the crowd.
