ZTE Nubia N1 Quick Review, Specs Overview And Hands On

Chinese smartphone manufacturer ZTE launched two new phones, Nubia Z11 and Nubia N1 in India at a launch event in Delhi. Both devices have already been launched in China and finally made its way to India today. The combo of 13 MP front camera and a massive 5000 mAh battery is kind of unusual in this segment.

It also sports a pretty good sets of hardware and build quality. Company also claims that the fingerprint sensor on this device is quite fast and the device can be unlocked in 0.2 seconds.  Additionally it comes with built-in support for split screen functionality. It is priced fairly decent at Rs. 11,999 in India.

Physical Overview

Design wise the Nubia N1 has been kept quite minimal and simple, yet it looks quite elegant. It features a metal body, a 13 MP camera with LED flash and a fingerprint sensor at the back. Apart from that, it also features a massive 5,000 mAh battery which is really amazing.


Front of the phone features a 5.5 inch full-HD IPS LCD display with corning Gorilla glass protection. Just above the display, you will find an opening for ear piece, the front camera and the couple of sensors. The bottom of the phone contains three touch capacitive buttons.

On the back towards the top side, you will find the primary camera module and a LED flash beside it. The fingerprint sensor lies in the middle.

On the bottom, you will find the Nubia branding and a sticker with some information on it.

The left side of the phone houses the SIM card slot which is a hybrid SIM card slot.

On the right, you will find the volume rockers and the power button

The top of the phone houses the 3.5mm audio jack and a secondary mic for noise cancellation.

ZTE Nubia N1 Display

The ZTE Nubia N1 features a 5.5 inch LTPS IPS LCD full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) resolution display with corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. The display has the pixel density of 401 ppi and 73.7% screen to body ratio. The display is bright and color reproduction is really good. You won’t find any pixelation with the naked eyes and the viewing angles are also quite good.

Camera Overview

The ZTE Nubia N1 features a 13 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and a LED flash. The performance is quite decent, the camera performed good in natural light and the pictures came out to be quite sharp and detailed. In low light it struggles a bit with lack of detail and slight amount of noise in the images. You can record up to 1080p videos at 30 FPS using the rear camera.

On the front, you get an 13 MP camera for selfies and video calling.

Pricing and Availability

ZTE Nubia N1 has been priced at Rs. 11,999 and will be exclusively sold via eCommerce site Amazon India. Registrations for the device will start from December 16.

Conclusion

The combo of 13 MP selfie camera and the 5,000 mAh battery is what makes this device interesting and is hardly seen in this price segment. It also has got a pretty good sets of specifications which can easily handle day to day tasks. Overall, the phone looks quite promising with the set of features it offers. Although we have to wait for the full review of this device to give our final verdict on this phone.
