In terms of imaging, the Lava QPAD R704 appears to be a basic performer with a low end 2 MP primary camera at its back and a basic VGA front facer to capture selfies and for video conferencing. At this pricing, there are hardly any good imaging slates, but this one is too basic making it a weak contender in this department.

Taking charge of the storage requirements of the tablet is a standard 8 GB of default storage capacity that can be extended further by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. As it is standard for the pricing the tablet asks, we do not have any complaints in this regard.

When it comes to raw hardware, Lava offering incorporates a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon chipset from the stable of Qualcomm. Also, the multi-tasking department is taken care of by 1 GB of RAM that should suffice in rendering a moderate performance. Though these aspect sound average, we cannot expect anything better from an entry-level tablet.


Keeping things juiced up in the Lava QPAD R704 is a 3,500 mAh battery. It is claimed by the vendor that this battery is capable of pumping in about 300 hours of standby time and 10 hours of talk time respectively to the device.

The Lava QPAD R704 flaunts a 7 inch capacitive 5 point multi-touch display that boasts of a screen resolution of 1024×600 pixels. While this display is pretty basic, it is not something that the other tablets in this price bracket do not come with and hence it is pretty standard.

The Lava tablet is fueled with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, but it is claimed that it can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat. Connectivity wise, the tablet comes packed with 3G via SIM card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the features front, the tablet features High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), Qualcomm Interference Cancellation and Equalization (Q-ICE), Snapdragon Audio for rich 3D surround sound and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology for 30% faster charging.
