Physical Overview

Asus Zenfone Max features a very elegant and descent design similar to its earlier variant. It has a rounded back cover made up of plastic with leather finishing for good grip. The phone is surrounded by a striking metal-effect bezel that looks stylish.

At 202 grams the phone might seem a little bulky but with 5000 mAh battery it is not too much. All in all the physical structure is good and the phone can easily be handled with one hand.

Gaming Performance

Zenfone Max is not designed for heavy tasks and hardcore gamers but the 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 processor works well in handling mid level games like Dead Trigger 2, it can also run games like Modern Combat if you tweak the graphic settings to low or medium. I played multiple games including the graphic intensive Modern Combat 5 and the experience was pretty impressive at medium graphic settings.
I had few issues with the aiming and touch response in the middle but rest of the experience was decent and the game was playable even after minute frame drops.

We noticed 2% of battery drop after playing Modern Combat 5 for 20 minutes, and the highest temperature noted was 39 degree Celsius during a hot day.

Conclusion

Asus Zenfone Max has been released for the second time with improved specs. Like previous model, this one has also managed to impress us with the overall performance and features it offers at this price. We cannot ignore the 5000 mAh battery that supports reverse charging, and still it offers you a decent camera, great performance at such an affordable price.
