How to use Paytm Inbox to send and request money

The popular mobile wallet Paytm has launched a new feature called Paytm Inbox. With this feature, Paytm users will now be able to chat with their friends and relatives, create group chats, and even send and request money from the contacts. The instant messaging service is integrated within the Paytm app.

With Paytm Inbox, Paytm has now made it easier to send and receive money in the Paytm Wallet to anyone using it. The new Paytm Inbox feature is accessible from the Paytm app and very easy to use. Apart from chatting, sending and receiving money, it will also tell you about any ongoing offers and your order details as well.

Use Paytm Inbox to send and request money

To access the new Paytm Inbox feature, make sure that you have the latest updated version of the Paytm app. Now, open the app and you will see Inbox option on the bottom right hand corner – tapping on it will open a new window.

It will show that you don’t have any conversations and ask you to tap on the floating icon on bottom right corner. After tapping, the icon the next page will show your contacts page that are using Paytm. Now, click on the contact you wish to chat with or send/request money from.


In the chat window you will see options like chatting with ‘Aa’ symbol to chat, camera icon and gallery icon to send pictures, videos etc., and next to it there are send money and request money icons. Click on either of them depending on whether you want to send or request money, and then enter the amount.

Tapping on “Send Money” will redirect you to the payments page and “Request Money” will simply send the message to your contact.

Chat using Paytm Inbox

Paytm Inbox also lets you share photos, videos, and even location in a personal or group chat. Paytm has also added a few games as well and said they would add more games to Inbox with future updates. Additionally, Paytm Inbox is end-to-end encrypted to maintain your privacy and security.

With this new feature, Paytm is planning to compete with WhatsApp, which is also planning to enter into digital payments in India.

Interestingly, Paytm Inbox also lets you delete messages from your as well as the receiver’s window, if you have sent it by mistake. To recall, WhatsApp has been testing the same feature dubbed as ‘Delete for Everyone’ for quite a long time and it has rolled out the feature just last week.
