Asus India has started taking the initiatives in the right direction, in the latest teaser they announced a new product which will come very soon india as per the information we have it will be Asus Fonepad, Asus showcased the fonepad at MWC 2013 and we did a hands on quick review of fonepad which you can watch to get an idea about it.
It is 7 inch tablet which will offer voice calling and 3G data support with a MicroSIM card slot and it powered 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and features an HD display with IPS technology for wide viewing angles. It has 1GB of RAM, and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU chip. It has a 3-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera.
It weighs 340 grams and is 10.4mm thick approx, it looks very much similar to Asus Nexus 7 previously launched in india. The screen resolution is 1280×800 with 10 point multi touch support. It can also be used for voice calls using the built-in noise-cancelling digital microphone or with a Bluetooth headset. It comes with 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB, with a microSD card.
Fonepad users will also get 5GB of free lifetime ASUS WebStorage for syncing photos, videos and sharing data with other devices. It has a 4270mAH battery which as per Asus once charged it will give around nine hours of running time. The approx price of this tablet should be around 10-12k indian rupees.
