Taiwan based Smartphone manufacturer, HTC has released a new smartphone in the Indian market, dubbed as HTC Desire U. Ever since its flagship released, the HTC Desire series always had something desirable for users of different interest and this launch will be targeting the users with mid range budget. The HTC Desire U is a mid range model that comes with Android 4.0 and a dual-SIM support.
One of HTC’s previous releases, the HTC Desire X was also launched for the mid-range market and had pretty similar feature when compared to the HTC Desire U. The HTC smartphones are always famous and admired for their built and their looks and the HTC Desire U, despite being an entry-level android phone, is endowed with such qualities.
Camera and Internal Storage
There is a 5 MP camera available in this handset with the pixel resolution of 2592х1944 pixels for capturing images and videos. The camera is supported by features like digital zoom, auto focus, Geo- tagging and LED flash and can record WVGA resolution videos. But the one major drawback we see here in the device is that it does not have any front camera which is bit upsetting as the user will not be able to do the video calling with the device. This was exactly the same case in HTC desire X as well which has same 5 MP camera and No secondary front facing camera.
The HTC Desire U has an internal storage space of 4 GB which can be expanded using the micro SD memory slot up to 32 GB of memory. The device has the internal storage upto 4Gb but a very few amount of it i.e1.5GB is available for the user. This is again the same as that in HTC desire X.
Processor and Battery
The device has a single-core processor ticking up to a maximum of 1.0 GHz. There is no official information about the chipset used in the device but the System info apps reports that a Qualcomm Adreno 200 GPU is onboard in the device. In case of HTC desire X it is Dual-core processor having 1 GHz frequency power and had an Qualcomm MSM8225 Snapdragon chipset onboard.
The battery featured in the device is Li-Ion 1650 mAh battery which is again similar to the company’s previous flagship device HTC desire X. With this battery power the device is expected to power the phone for non-stop talk of up to 20 hours on a 2G connection and 10 hours on 3G.
Display Size and Type
This low cost dual SIM smartphone from HTC has a dimensions of 118.5 x 62.3 x 9.3 mm and weighs only 114 grams making it extremely handy and nice to use. The phone features a 4.0 Super LCD capacitive touch screen with display resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and has a pixel density of approximately 233 ppi. This is again same as the HTC Desire X.

Conclusion
The device has a good looks and the specs displays that the device is not for the users who are looking for a phone to enjoy the bliss of HD, multitasking, or capture high definition videos and photos. Rather, this is for people looking for the basic smart features of an Android phone. The older Android version which is Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) is one of the major drawback we see in the device as there are few device available in the same price range from few Indian brands with improved and latest Android version. But if you are much concerned about the looks of your device and want to enjoy the basic Smartphone feature with the brand name of HTC then you can order the device online on Flipkart.com for Rs.13,499.
