Celkon has just announced a new smartphone in Indian market dubbed as Celkon A118 Signature HD. The company has launched few Quad Core device like Celkon A107 and Celkon A119Q and this device is the company’s new flagship device in this  segment and it will a new competition in the Quad core market.

From the last few months there were  lots of Quad core devices launched in the market and hence the competition is already high in this segment of smartphone. This phone will have many competitors in the Indian market, like the Karbonn S2 Titanium, Karbonn Titanium S5, Xolo Q700 among others.

The device share the similar specs as A119Q Signature HD which the company launched few days back with minor differences. The device sports 5-inch HD IPS Display screen with 720 x 1280p resolution and it is powered by 1.2GHz Quad core MTK6589 Processor.  A118 comes with a 8MP of Rear camera with Auto-Focus, Smart LED Flash and 3 Megapixel Front facing camera where as the company’s device celkon A119Q was launched with 12MP camera. So we are not sure why the camera is degraded in this version where both share the same price range.

The device runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean as similar to A119Q Signature HD. The Internal Storage is of 4GB and it has 1GB of RAM with 2000 mAh. On the connectivity front it supports 3.5mm Audio Jack, Bluetooth v4.0, GPRS, Class 12EDGE, 3G Video calling, micro USB v2.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

All in all, we would give this device a thumbs up, although you have quite a bit of choice when it comes to the budget quad core segment. Some big pluses about this device are – Android 4.2.1, and 3 megapixel front camera. This smartphone is priced at Rs. 12,500 which looks good as most of the other device in this segment gets the range of 13000 plus.
