Google To Open Android Nation Stores in New Delhi Soon

American giant Google.inc will soon enter the retail market in India with opening of India’s first Android Nation Store in New Delhi, in partnership with Spice Global which has several retail outlets in India along with a admirable range of Android phones. This store will market Android devices across multiple brands like Samsung,HTC, Sony , ASUS ,etc. and thus help with android penetration in Indian market.

This will be the third Android store of its kind and its opening in India signifies the importance Google is giving to the Indian market. First Android store was opened in Jakarta, Indonesia which later expanded to another store. Google feels that people need to be more  familiar with its products before they are willing to purchase them. Google also recently launched” start searching India” campaign and now it has announced its entry in Indian retail market . It would be wise to penetrate massive untapped Indian smartphone markets with android phones, as apples exclusive outlets are not yet available in India.

These stores will also have staff support to help buyers choose from various brands of smartphones ,guide them through various versions of android,enlightening them about various appsand help them with software updates . Reportedly Google will also support China’s third largest smartphone brand Coolpad to market its phones under the brand name Spice Coolpad from these stores. Spice will also help Google push Android phones in other markets like Thailand, Malaysia and Middle east. Spice president B.K. Modi also said that they plan to promote 3G phones and gradually phase out 2G phones from these stores thus echoing Google’s strategy to promote internet usage in India.

India’s first Android Nation store will open in SELECT CITY WALK mall in new Delhi and will be enclosed in a 1200- 1500 sq-ft area. These stores will help strengthen and penetrate Android brand identity which in itself will be favorable to Google.
