Panasonic has announced Android based cordless home phone. We have earlier seen similar phones from Motorola but this is first of its kind device from Panasonic. Panasonic KX-PRX120 has all features of an Android device but is meant to be used around your home and not for carrying around through the day.
This home phone comes with a DECT base station which can support up to 6 different handsets and employs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Operating system. Your phone has to be in range of DECT base station to get DECT signal. The TFT display of this device is 3.5 inch in size and supports 480 x 320 HVGA resolution. This phone is designed to be used as a home phone and thus this display will is appropriate.
It comes with a VGA front camera for those interested in video calling. Other connectivity features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB and GPS. Apart from these basic smartphone features it comes with various other home phone features. It features an Answering machine which can record up to 40 minutes of voice messages. It also includes features like incoming and outgoing call barring to help minimize unwanted nuisance calls. It also comes with microSD and microSDHC support
The battery capacity is 1450 mAh which will be sufficient enough for home phones. This phone is meant for users to enjoy communication options from android along with conventional communication via landline phones. The chipset specifications have not been mentioned and we don’t expect than to be quite admirable either considering the usage of this device.
