WeChat to come Pre-installed on upcoming Panasonic Smartphones

Panasonic today announced that it has joined hands with the popular messaging app WeChat and WeChat messenger will be preloaded on all upcoming Panasonic handsets hereon. Panasonic has also opened its official account and WeChat which it will use to enhance connectivity and interaction with huge user base of WeChat. With the exploding networking craze amongst Indian youth this move is likely to benefit both WeChat and Panasonic.

WeChat has a worldwide user base of 70 million people and supports text, voice and video messaging. You can add friends via various means like phone book contacts, Facebook profiles and activating location based functions like “look around” and “shake”. You can download WeChat for free from app stores of iOS, Android, Symbian, BlackBerry and Windows phone operating system.

Craze of social networking amongst Indian youth is quite evident from the success of messenger apps like WeChat, Line Messenger, WhatsApp and Facebook messenger to name a few. This partnership will help both Panasonic and WeChat in penetrating Indian market. Panasonic is a relatively new player in India with its flagship phone P51 available for 19,990 INR. It comes with 5 inch HD display and a 1.2 GHz quad core processor. Besides P51 Panasonic also recently launched to quad core devices P11 and T11 in India.
