We earlier covered the upcoming Smartphone Smart NaMo, which has been named so in honor of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, which is expected to be launched by August end. Another smartphone belonging to NaMo series, which is a 6.5 Inch Phablet is expected to launch soon by the end of September, and will be priced at Rs. 19,999.
This huge display tablet will sport full HD 1080p resolution, but the pixel density will be reduced owing to the large screen size. This display also beats 6.44 inch Sony Xperia Z Ultra as far as size is concerned and will be one of its kind at this price range.
This Phablet will be powered by MediaTek Turbo processor MT6589T which is clocked at a frequency of 1.5 GHz and comes with PowerVR SGX544 GPU clocked at a frequency of 347 MHz, thus making it suitable for graphic intensive gaming. The RAM capacity of this phone will be 2GB which is again above average in this price range. You will get a 32GB microSD card free with this device thus you won’t have to face any storage issue. The Operating System has not been specified yet but we can expect it to be Android 4.2 jelly bean.
The camera of this phablet is a 13 MP auto focus camera, which is expected to be capable of Full HD recording. A front camera of 2 MP is also available for video calling.
The battery capacity is 3150 mAh , although the quad core turbo processor and 6.5 inch FHD display will take their toll and you will get a talk time of only 2 to 2.5 hours which is really disappointing and will be a deal breaker for many. The connectivity features include 3G, EDGE, Wi-Fi, GPS, aGPS, HSDPA and HSUPA.
You will get a Bluetooth Headset and a leather case free with this phone. Like other phones in this series this too will come with signature of Narendra Modi. The Smart NaMo team will also establish an assembly unit in Gandginagar, Gujarat. The specifications of this device are really admirable on paper at this price range apart from the disappointing battery back up. It remains to be seen how this actually performs. Nevertheless it will be a very pleasant option for those of us who love big screen Smartphones but have a restricted budget. the association with the name Narendra Modi has proven to be a great marketing move as the phone has garnered enough hype even before its official launch. This phone will be competing with devices like Huawei Ascend Mate and Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.
