Intex Cloud X4 and Y2 with 1.2 GHz Dual Core and Android 4.2 at Rs. 4,590 and Rs. 6,190

After launching Intex Cloud X3(3790 INR) few weeks back, Intex is back with two other budget phones Intex cloud X4 and Intex Cloud Y2. Both of these phones boast of 3G support and Android 4.2 J.B. Operating System. They have been priced at 4,590 and 6,190 INR respectively.

Intex Cloud X4 has similar specifications to its predecessor Cloud X3. It features a 3.5 Inch display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution similar to Cloud X3. It is powered by a 1 GHz Dual core processor which should be more than sufficient for a budget android device. It is backed by a RAM capacity of 256 MB and internal storage memory of 512 MB, further extendable to 32 GB.

The camera sensor has been increased from 2 MO in Cloud X3 to 3.2 MP in Cloud X4. A front VGA camera is also present for video calling. The Battery capacity is 1500 mAh, offering a talk time of 7 Hrs, which is apt considering the price range and considering what other manufactures are offering. Over all it constitutes a good Android Budget phone for first time users.

The Intex Cloud Y2 will challenge upper range Budget Android devices like Micromax Canvas Music A88. It comes with a 4 Inch Display with WVGA 480 x 800 pixel resolution. This device is also powered by a dual core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz frequency and supports Android 4.2 Jelly bean O.s. the RAM capacity is 512 MB which is at Par with what most manufacturers are offering at this price range. The internal storage memory is 4 GB which can be extended to 32 GB using MicroSD Support.


This device features a 5 MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. The battery capacity is similar to Cloud X4 at 1500 mAh. Intel claims this will also offer you a talk time of 7 Hrs and stand by time of 300 Hours, but you can expect it to drain a tad bit early cause of bigger display. This device support Dual SIM and connectivity features include 3G, GPRS, GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, GM-Mobility Division, Intex Technologies (I) Ltd. said, “ Intex has sold over 4 lacs Smartphones in last quarter and planning to sell 3 million this fiscal year. This widespread acceptance is testimony to our differentiated and rich product portfolio, which is backed by a strong service and support network. Our latest offerings in the ‘Cloud’ series offer an enhanced mobility experience to users who demand the best of features and performance from their smartphones and are economical too.”

Both these phones are available in black and White colors and will suffice for general purpose usage. Those looking for options can check Videocon A52, Videocon A24, Lava Iris 402 and 356.
