A low cost variant of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 has appeared on an e-commerce website Snapdeal today. Last month Samsung Launched Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch and 2 Variants of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8 inch in India. This 7 inch tablet, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 210, lacks 3G support and only comes with Wi-Fi connectivity and comes with a lower price tag of Rs. 12,399
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 210 comes with a 7 inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution (~170 ppi). This is a common resolution shared by various Budget tablets from Chinese and domestic manufactures priced below 10,000. On the soft ware front it comes with Android 4.1 Jelly bean operating system.
It is powered by a Dual core processor clocked at a frequency of 1.2 GHz. The RAM capacity is 1 GB which is more than what most budget tablets offer. The internal memory is 8 GB and can be further extended to 32 GB using MicroSD card. This tablet weighs moderate 300 grams and is 9.9 mm thick.
The primary camera of this device is of 3 MP. A front camera of 1.2 MP is also present for video calling. the battery capacity of 4000 mAh is venerable at this price range. Other connectivity features include WiFi, WiFi Channel Bonding, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 3.0 and aGPS.
So what will you miss in this tablet? Most certainly 3G and the SIM card calling. Most people use their tablets as portable computers when roaming around, and lack of 3G might be a deal breaker for many. It’s interesting to see a competitively priced product from Samsung to allure consumers light on pocket. This tablet will compete against recently launched tablets like Simmtronics XPAD Mini, MTV Slate Tablet and Mercury mTAB Star.
