Apart from star of IFA 2013, Sony Xperia Z1 (Quick Review), Sony also unveiled another product, Sony Walkman F886, an Android based Media player which comes with Android 4.1 Jelly bean Operating system and will also be compatible with Widows and Mac Operating Systems. Will this be an apt answer from Sony to Apple’s iOS based iPod Touch? Let’s take a look.
The F886 sports a 4 Inch TRILUMINOUS LCD display with FWVGA 854 X 480 pixel resolution. The sound features are also pretty interesting and also important in a Media player. This player supports 192 KHz/ 24 but High resolution audio formats which Sony claims can deliver 6 times more audio quality than music recorded on a CD. It also features S-Master HX digital amplifier to reduce distortion and noise at all frequency range audio.
Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) are also present to improve the quality of Compressed audio formats. ClearAudio+ will provide you with up to 98 % ambient noise cancelation while listening to music via headphones. Various audio formats like WAV, AUFF,FLAC and Apple lossless formats are supported by this player.
The internal storage is 32 GB and is not expandable. You can play MP3 Audio for up to 36 Hrs and High Definition audio for up to 26 Hrs on this player. The connectivity options include Bluetooth, NFC and Wi-Fi. You can have one touch Bluetooth pairing through NFC with compatible devices. The buttons are present on Side panel for easy operability.
Sony has focused more on the audio features with this device, although you can also watch Videos and use this device as a mini tablet. All these features seem quite alluring and will definitely appeal to music lovers. Sony has not yet unveiled the price of this player but it will be available for purchase from October next month.
