Amazon today unveiled next generation Kindle tablets HDX 7 Inch and 8.9 Inch for US markets with price starting at $229 and $379 respectively. These tablets pose pretty good hardware specifications and we can expect them to come to India soon enough.
The 7 inch tablet features 1920 x 1200 pixel full HD resolution, thus giving you pixel density of 323 ppi. This tablet is powered by 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 800 quad core processor which is the best in business. The processor is further aided by Adreno 330 GPU. A 2GB RAM will ensure smooth multitasking and UI Transitions.
This device will come in 16GB (8.8GB available), 32GB (25.6GB available) and 64 GB (54.3GB available to user) internal storage variants. There is a 720p HD front facing camera available in this tablet which can be used for video calling.
The battery backup will last 11 hours with mixed usage and up to 17 hours while reading. Connectivity features include 4G LTE (HSPA+), Wi-Fi , Bluetooth with A2DP, GPS, AGPS and USB 2.0. The tablet weighs 303 grams (311 g for LTE variant) and comes with stereo speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio engine.
The Kindle Fire HDX 8.9″ features 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution, leading to similar pixel density of 339ppi. This tablet features the same chipset specifications including the Snapdragon 800 processor and 2 GB RAM. Similar 16 GB/32 GB/64 GB variants will be available for this tablet as well. This too runs on Fire O.S. 3 .0 mojito Based on Android jelly bean.
A rear camera has been added in this tablet. The camera has an 8MP sensor and is capable of full HD 1080p video recording. The front camera remains same. The battery capacity is impressive in this tablet too. Amazon claims that the battery will last up to 18 hours while reading and for up to 12 hours with mixed usage. This tablet weighs a moderate 374 grams (WiFi version)
Both these tablet feature similar specifications apart from the size scaling. The Shipment will start from November 7th and the tablets are available for preorder as of now. We can expect these to be list on Amazon’s India site soon.
