Apart from Lenovo Vibe X, Lenovo also launched a sleek tablet, Lenovo S5000 which is only 7.9 mm thick and weighs 246 gram. This 7 Inch budget tablet is expected to hit Indian market by the ear end according to the official press release by Lenovo. With India emerging as a potential market, manufacturers are now launching devices in sync with the global market, which is a big positive for enthusiasts in India.

Camera and Internal Storage

The tablet offers a 5MP auto focus primary camera which is comfortably above average in the tablet arena. The tablet camera is rarely used and thus manufacturers aren’t very willing to go that extra mile with the camera in big screen devices. Lenovo has also provided a 1.6 MP front camera which should be sufficient enough for those interested in Video calling.

The tablet offers 16 GB of Internal storage similar to recently launched tablets in India like Micromax Tab P650. The Internal storage is extendable to up to 64 GB using the microSD card.

Processor and Battery

This Tablet is powered by MT8389 Chipset from MediaTek which includes 1.2 GHz quad core processor based on Cortex A7 architecture (similar to MT6589 SoC )and 1 GB RAM under the hood. This processor is expected to perform well considering the tablet’s price bracket. You will be able to engage in general purpose usage and moderate gaming without much lag.

The battery capacity is 3450 mAh which is slightly less considering the 7 Inch HD display and quad core processor. Also the Li-ion battery is non removable which won’t be ideal choice for many.

Display and Features

The tablet features a 7 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, which amounts to 217 pixels per inches. The ppi count is above tablets like Micromax Canvas Tab P650 and XOLO Tab. Although the display size in these tablets is larger at 8 Inch.

This tablet runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system and come preloaded with several applications to facilitate data and multimedia files and to enhance security.

Looks and Connectivity

The tablet is quite sleek and looks premium with the metallic finish. The back cover is non removable and the metallic texture makes the device look quite attractive.

Connectivity features include 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB and OTG support. With the OTG support you can connect peripherals like Ketboard, mouse and pen drive to your tablet using a simple USB OTG cable.

XOLO Tegra Note which will be priced in the same expected price range and Nvidia claims it to be the fastest 7 inch tablet around. Also Google Nexus 7 Second edition will arrive in India around same time.
