Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

LG G2 on the build quality department is pretty okay does not feel any different from plastic phones but the gloss back cover texture design does give you better grip when you hold it in hands and on the whole it does not feel like cheap or flimsy plastic but feels good in hands. The design is some thing which makes this device different from others and its does not follow the traditional design language at least in terms of button placement as for a change this device does not have any button on the edges as both the power and sleep key and volume rocker has been moved to the back below the camera and they are nicely designed to give the device a sleek look.

The Form factor of the device is good as being a 5.2 inch display it does not feel like too big to hold in one hand and one handed usage of the device is also pretty good, the weight of the device is around 143 grams which is comparable to the other devices like these so it does not feel heavy in hands.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

The display is one the best display with amazing color reproductions and good clarity as well, you cannot not pixels on the display with naked eyes even if you take a closer look, it has 5.2 inch True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1920 x 1080 HD resolution  with a pixel density of 424 pixels per inch approx.

The in build memory of the device we reviewed was 32 Gb out of which you get around 24Gb approx available to the user for installing apps, storing pictures, videos and other data, there is no memory card on the device to expand the storage and the back cover cannot be removed and same goes for the battery as its non removable but its quite high in rating at 3000 mAh and it gives around 1.5 day of backup for moderate user where as heavy user who play a lot of the games will get it around 1 day and some times little less than one day.

Software, Benchmarks and Gaming

The software UI is customized which is running on top of android and its not sluggish but on the other hand it gives you nice features like Knock Out, Slide Aside which gives additional options to users to use this device better in day to day usage. Gaming wise this device is quite good as it can play almost any graphic intensive games like modern combat 4, Frontline commando D day and Nova 3 as well without any graphic lag or glitch, below are all the benchmarks scores.

Benchmark Scores

  • Quadrant Standard Edition: 19772
  • Antutu Benchmark: 31661
  • Nenamark2:  58.5 fps
  • Multi Touch:  10 point

Sound, Video and Navigation

The sound quality from the ear piece is crisp and clear in GSM voice calls, sound through the headphones is also quite good but loudspeakers sometimes does not feel loud while playing some videos and songs on the device. It can play HD videos both at 720p or 1080p without any audio or video sync issues. You can also use GPS navigation on this device, it does have magnetometer sensor and GPS locking takes around 5-10 seconds on this device and you will need internet as it works on the basis of Assisted GPS.

Camera Performance

The rear camera is a 13Mp shooter which can also record 1080p videos at 30 fps and same goes for the front 2 MP camera. The overall performance of the device in daylight is really good and in low light it was nice to see the photos pretty good brightness and details as well if taken in the right way, check out some camera samples below.

Conclusion and Price

LG G2 is a great performer both on the application and gaming front, it comes with latest powerful hardware at a price of Rs.41,500 approx for 16Gb and Rs. 44,500 for 32 Gb version and offers a great design with unique buttons layout and some good software features as well but its again plastic build quality phone but the quality of the plastic is good does not feel cheap in hands, it also has a good but not the best camera and great form factor as being 5.2 inch display phone it does not feel big in hands.
