Gionee Elife E6 (Initial Review) was a much awaited phone which was launched recently by one of the China’s most trusted brand Gionee. Few days back Intex launched a refreshing product in India, Intex Aqua i7 (Quick Review) which tried to provide best possible specs as per market demand at a particular price range. Let’s take a detailed look at where these phones stand against each other.
Weight and Dimensions
Both of these devices have spectacular body design and both of them are quite sleek with Aqua i7 being 7.8 mm thick and Elife E6 being 7.9 mm thick. Complete body dimensions are 142.7×71.9×7.8 mm for Aqua i7 and 142.5×69.4×7.9 mm for Elife E6.
Elife E6 is more rectangular like a Slab, something we loved in terms of look and feel. Aqua i7 has a chrome band on the edges and matte finish at the back. Both of these phones don’t have a removable back door.
Display and Processor
Both of these smartphones feature a 5 Inch Full HD display with 1920 X1080 Pixel resolution amounting to pixel density of 441 pixels per inch comparable to high end devices from Tier one manufacturers.
Both of the display types are IPS LCD with OGS technology which eliminates a middle glass layer from your display also reducing the air gap and thus resulting in less scattering of light. This leads to better outdoor visibility and enhanced brightness. Intex Aqua i7 is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and will be more resistant to abuse compared to Elife E6 with Dragontrail glass.
The Processing powered offered will be similar in both the devices. The processor employed is MT6589T which is the advanced Quad core turbo processor in the MT6589 Series clocked at 1.5 GHz and the PowerVR SGX 544 MP GPU supporting this processor is clocked at a higher frequency of 357 MHz. RAM capacity of 2GB is present to aid the processor in both of these devices which will be sufficient even for advanced gaming.
Camera and Memory
The Elife E6 comes with a 13 MP camera at the back with LED Flash. The camera has wide F2.2 Aperture and Back Side Illuminated (BSI) sensor for better low light performance. The camera has 5 element lens technology to give you better images. A front camera of 5 MP is also present for video calling.
Intex Aqua i7 also features a 13 MP camera at the back with BSI sensor and a 5 MP camera at the front. Its camera UI lets you tinker with advanced settings like hue and saturation in the pro mode. Both of these camera phones are expected to perform well.
The memory of both of these devices is 32 GB and is not extendable. Intex will offer you 5 GB of extra storage on the cloud.
Battery and Features
Seeing the specs on paper, the battery of both of these smartphones seems to be the limiting factor, at least on paper. Intex Aqua i7 features a 2000 mAh battery, where as Elife E6 has a 2020 mAh battery under the hood. Both of these batteries will be heavily taxed by Full HD display and quad core processor.
Gionee claims that it has implemented various software optimizations at deep levels to conserve battery life and Intex Aqua i7 comes with various power saver modes which is not saying much. Power saving modes is also present in Elife E6.
Intex Aqua i7 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system, whereas Elife E6 runs on Amigo O.s. based on Android 4.2. Which mainly consist of 4 different experiences: Phone, Desktop, Gamming and Care (living assistant) .Elife E6 will also have an Interesting voice feature which will even work without an internet connection.
Intex Aqua i7 comes with an interesting feature in the form of Myscreen App which allows you to work with various features like media player, file manager and Browser simultaneously. It is a unique multi tasking feature which comes in quite handy. It also comes preloaded with NQ vault and NQ security along with various other HD gaming apps.

With our experience with Elife E6 so far, the software optimizations running in the background does work and the battery backup can comfortably last one day (even more with low usage). This is more than what we can expect from 2000 mAh battery in the competition.
