Few months Back Google announced that it would open worlds Third Android nation store in India in partnership with Spice Mobility. These stores are now a reality and have been named AndroidLand in India. Though earlier it was announced that the store will be opened in Delhi, 2 new Android Land stores have been opened in Great India Place (GIP) Mall, Noida and in Koramangala, Bangalore.
Dilip Modi, Co-Founder and Group CEO, Spice Global said in a statement released to the press, “We are confident customers will love the fun and engaging store concept that we developed in collaboration with Google. We have created a destination for customers to experience Android technology and learn about what they can do with mobile Internet. Spice has always believed in constant innovation in retail and with this launch we have kept our promise of bringing many ‘firsts’ to India”, in the field of technology retailing”.
The Banglore store is spread across wide area of 2300 Sq Ft while the Noida store covers only 900 Sq ft which is smaller than the expected 1200- 1500 Sq Ft proposed earlier in June. There will be Free WiFi access throughout the store for you to test live devices.
These stores will retail Android smartphones and tablets across multiple global brands like Lenovo, HTC, Sony, Samsung and also Domestic brands like Micromax, Xolo, Karbonn etc.

First Android store was opened in Jakarta, Indonesia which later expanded to another store. With India becoming the third largest market in the world for smartphones it is a good move for Google to penetrate Android platform before Apple stores arrive in India.
