Apart from officially launching Gionee Gpad G3 in India, Gionee has also unveiled Gionee GPAD 4 on its Facebook page today and we expect it to come to India eventually. The Gionee Gpad G4 has a still larger 5.7 Inch HD display and also the enhanced MT6589T chipset.
The 5.7 Inch Display sports 720 P HD resolution which will give you 258 pixels per inches similar to phones like Micromax Canvas Doodle 2. On the software front this phone holds Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system.
The processor employed is MT6589T 1.5 GHz quad core processor which will be assisted by better PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. The RAM capacity is 1 GB and the internal storage has been doubled to 16 GB as compared to Gpad G3. As MT6589T Chipset is employed, the 720p display would allow efficient handling of graphics and you would hopefully be free from lag we have seen with Full HD resolution on this chipset.
The Gionee Gpad 4 sports a 13 MP Autofocus camera at the back with BSI sensor and wide f/2.2 aperture. This camera is capable of full HD video recording at 30 fps. The secondary camera of 5 MP is also present for video calling.
The Battery capacity is 3200 mAh and this is a much appreciated improvement over Gpad G3. Connectivity features include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and 3.5 mm audio jack.
This Phablet packs good specifications on paper and is only 7.95 mm thick. We expect this phone to come in India at a price range of around 20,000 INR. It will compete with phones like Micromax Canvas Doodle 2 and Xolo Q2000.
