Digimac Mobiles have started their operations in India from a basic Dual SIM handset Digimac Exi. The phone has been priced at Rs. 5,499 which makes it expensive considering the un-established brand and bygone hardware specs.
The only thing that seems to make it stand apart from the rest is the unconventional body design which is more rectangular and refreshing change to almost similar designed budget android phones.
The phone comes with a 1 GHz Single core processor based on Cortex A9 architecture backed by 512 MB RAM. You will get 130 MB of storage space (Total 512 MB) for Apps and can use external SD card for up to 32 GB. The phone runs on Android 4.0 ICS which is not very appealing these days. The chipset can play 720P HD videos.
The display sounds good, with 4 Inch screen real estate covered by 854 X 480 (FWVGA) pixels which will give you pixel density of 244 ppi. The display type is IPS LCD which is uncommon in budget Android phones and will give you better sharpness and good viewing angles.
The Primary camera at the back is of Enhanced 5 MP(2 MP real) and enjoys Flash support for low light conditions. It also incorporates a front camera for Video calling.
The Battery capacity ia 1350 mAh which company claims will give you talk time of 8 hours and standby time of 120 hours. You will get 2G connectivity and Dual SIM functionality. Their is no 3G but you can enjoy WiFi connectivity.
Only one service center is available in Mumbai and those living nearby can consider it. You can also get 3G enable Dual core jelly bean smartphones for this price from other popular domestic manufacturers like Xolo A500L and many more for the same price range.
