Rising Indian manufacturer Spice today took the veils off another low-cost smartphone for the country. The device, Smart Flo Mettle 5X, comes with a dual core processor and runs on Android v4.2. The device has been priced 6,499 INR for the market and will be available at major online retailers.
Specifications of the Smart Flo Mettle 5X include a 1.3GHz processor from MediaTek, which comes with an on-board modem housing 2 SIM slots. However, there is no 3G support on the device, both SIMs will be restricted to 2G networks only. The phone features a large screen measuring 5-inches, which is a favourite among domestic low-cost phone manufacturers. This 5 inch panel features an FWVGA resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.
Other specifications of the phone include 512MB of RAM to complement the dual core processor, 4GB of on-board storage along with a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 32GB, an 8MP camera at the rear with autofocus and a front shooter of 1.3MP for video calls.
The device will run Android v4.2 out of the box and will come powered by an 1800mAh battery, which the company claims will last 150 hours on standby and 4 hours on talktime. Spice will also be bundling a few apps like BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and features like flip to mute will be embedded in the phone’s firmware to make it easy to use.
The device has been priced 6,499 INR.
