Samsung Might Provide KitKat Update to Entry Level Phones

Google’s latest Android Operating system , Android 4.4 KitKat was designed to reduce android fragmentation and Google claims that this can even work well with phones having moderate 512 MB RAM. Samsung will reportedly take advantage of the fact and breathe new life in its entry level phones by providing them with Android 4.4 KitKat update!

The Windows Phone 8 OS works better in Entry level segment as is evident from the Nokia Lumia 520. The latter versions of Android (above Ice Cream Sandwich) are notorious for giving sluggish performance with moderate hardware and in spite of this, Android dominates the market even in the Entry level segment.

On one hand Nokia is preparing to launch its first Customized Android phone (in the segment where Windows Phone works better), Samsung is investigating entry level devices suitable for KitKat Update. SamMobile got hold of an internal list which details the names of smartphones under consideration for KitKat update.

These smartphones include Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S3 Mini, Ace 3, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Fame amongst others. Hopefully some of these smartphones will soon receive fancy and refreshing KitKat update which will enhance their performance significantly. Moto G with Android 4.4 KitKat will soon hit Indian Market and if this project goes through, it will make Samsung last generation smartphones a effective weapon to hold their ground in the budget Android battle.
