Design and Build

Gionee Elife E7 looks like good in the design department, it follows the same design language just like we have seen in Gionee Elife E6 but not completely, the top and bottom edges of the phone are rounded than flat which is good thing to make it go inside your jeans or bag pocket easily. It may feel big in terms of the display size but its quite handy in terms of the grip from edges and pretty light considering a 5.5 inch display phone. The build however is made up of good quality of the plastic and does not feel cheap, the look however is glossy all around which is quite finger print catchy but may not get the scratches easily as it feels like it has a protection coating all around.

Camera and Internal Storage

The rear camera on the device is 16MP which has Auto Focus with LED flash, we took some photos in artificial light and they came out pretty good with good colors and nice amount of details can be seen in those photos. The rear camera is capable of recording a video at 720p and 1080p but the front 8 MP fixed focus camera is also not bad either as it can help you do a good HD video chat at 720p with video recording also possible at 720p. The internal storage of the device is around 16Gb out of which around 12GB was available to the user on the device we tested, but there is no support for memory expansion of this device so 32Gb version of the device makes more sense if you are considering it.

OS and Battery

The OS UI is completely customized which is based on the AMIGO UI ROM and this UI is responsive as well as we noticed while switching apps and home screen transitions, but it was definitely not as snappy as stock android could on this great hardware phone. The 2500 mAh battery is sealed inside as the phone as it is a Unibody device, but we really doubt whether this 2500 mAh battery will be sufficient for 5.5 inch Full HD display, we will let you know more once we do the full review of this phone.

Initial Conclusion and Overview

Gionee Elife E7 looks great in terms of hardware and benchmark scores and also it is quite decent on the build quality and design department and the price tag of Rs. 29,999 for the 32gb version is slightly higher for Gionee phone to sell as this is the most costly flagship phone they have launched till date in India however the 16gb version is priced at Rs. 26,999. Do let us know your thoughts on this through the comments section below, leave a comment what do you think about this new flagship phone from Gionee.
