Design and Build

As per the design, nexus 7 2013 seems like an improved version of older Nexus 7 as it has a matte finish this time which is better as per preferences for many people out there. The new nexus 7 not only feels lighter at 290 grams but also has got much more in terms of connectivity as it has SIM card slot. The build quality has also got improved on this device which has got a great feel and nice form factor and it has got quite thinner this time as well.

Camera and Internal Storage

The 5 MP rear camera on the device is and can capture great shots in daylight and in low light its pretty ok and more we will only be able to tell you once we do the full review of the camera. The rear camera has auto focus and tap to focus both and front camera is 1.2MP VGA still you can do decent quality video chat from the device.

OS and Battery

The UI is stock android which is snappy and faster than the one you might have seen on the older Nexus 7. It has 3950 mAh battery which should be good but it has been decreased in terms of rating as compared to the older Nexus 7 as it was 4325 mAh, the decrease in power rating could be due to the small size battery and new slim design, we will let you know about the battery performance once we do the full review.

Initial Conclusion and Overview

Nexus 7 2013 seems a lot better in many ways compared to the older generation, however the price of the device is around Rs. 20,000 INR which makes it quite costly as a 7 inch tablet, we have great competitors like Xolo Nvidia Tegra Note which is one such tablet which can give a great fight in terms of performance and specs. We will let you know more in detail about this tablet, once we get the review unit and we do the full review, till then stay tuned and leave your comments, views and questions about this device through the comment section below.
