LG G2 VS Gionee Elife E7 Comparison Overview

The G2 and the Elife E7 happen to be flagships of the two brands, LG and Gionee. While LG has been operating in India since as long as I can remember, Gionee hasn’t even completed one whole year of operations in India. The fact that people are already comparing a Gionee device to an LG device should make folks at Gionee proud.

Display

Both devices come with larger than 5 inches of display. While the LG G2 does 5.2 inches, the E7 comes with 5.5 inches. What is great on both these devices is the fact that they aren’t as large as their competitors with screens of the same size. Size would be a matter of your choice, but you will find a tighter pixel density on the LG G2 simply for the fact that it comes with the same resolution as the E7 but has a smaller display.

Camera and Storage

The imaging department is dominated by China’s Gionee Elife E7. The phone boasts a 16MP camera at the rear along with an 8MP front, something which is rarely seen. Also, the 16MP camera on the rear is said to be ‘the most sensitive mobile camera’, which does add quite a bit to the overall value of the phone. On the other hand, the G2 comes with a 13MP main shooter which is not at all bad, but will perhaps bow down to E7’s 16MP rear. The G2 has a 2.1MP front which again will fall short of the 8MP front on the E7 by quite a bit.

Both devices come with 16GB/32GB variants, neither offering expandable storage.

Processor and Battery

While the E7 comes in both 2.2GHz and 2.5GHz variants of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, the G2 comes only with the 2.2GHz one. The 2.5GHz variant of the E7 will quite easily outperform the G2. This because, not only does the CPU operate at a greater frequency, but the 2.5GHz variant also has 1.5x amount of RAM, i.e., 3GB to contend with, making it the king of multitasking (at least for now).

Coming to the battery, the G2 does significantly better with a 3000mAh unit as compared to a 2500mAh one on the E7. This is significant because not the difference in considerable, but the E7 which comes with a smaller battery features a larger screen, i.e., 5.5 inches as compared to 5.2 on the G2. You can expect G2 to last 2-3 hours longer on normal usage.

Conclusion

This is a very tough one indeed. If you consider yourself a photography enthusiasts and hand big hands and pockets, you can consider the Gionee Elife E7 as your next device. On the other hand if you do not need the 16MP shooter, you can go for the LG G2 which will offer good performance and better battery life. Another thing to consider is the operating system on these devices. Both devices feature overlays from their respective OEMs. While the G2 is still quite stable and dependable, the Amigo UI on the Elife series can be quite buggy at times.
