Samsung launched its Galaxy Gear Smartwatch at IFA last year and the smartwatch was considered expensive for the features it offered. The South Korean Consumer electronics Giant has already started teasing the successor of Samsung Galaxy Gear in its Tweets.
As seen from the above image, Samsung is not hinting at any specifics here but it does give a strong indication that the Next version of Samsung Smartwatch might be showcased at CES 2014 starting tomorrow.
It was previously rumored that Samsung will launch Galaxy Gear 2 at MWC along with Samsung Galaxy S5 in February next month. The Samsung Galaxy Gear was launched only in September last year and the early arrival of its successor may be due to the cold response it has received.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear sports a 1.63 inches display with 320 x320 pixel resolution. it is powered by a 800 MHz processor and 512 MB RAM. Internal storage is 4 GB and it also features a 1.9 MP camera. Battery capacity is 315 mAh and enough apps are already available for the Android based watch. One of its biggest limitation is that it will work with only a handful of high end Samsung smartphones.
Various leaks have claimed that Samsung will be bringing a wearable fitness gadget to CES this week and it might be the successor of Galaxy Gear. The Smartwatch market is all set to get even more competitive in 2014 and it’s a smart move to eliminate the shortcomings of the Galaxy gear at an early stage.
